The Club: Whether it is a 90 yard pitch to our elevated
greens or where you spend the best years of your life - Club selection
is everything.
Laurel Ridge Golf and Country Club is a
spectacular Bob Cupp designed course featuring
magnificent golf and mountain views. Laurel Ridge is
located at the edge of the charming city of Waynesville,
North Carolina, where temperatures average 70 degrees
during the summer and mid 40's in the winter - a
spectacular setting for year round or seasonal living.
At altitudes ranging from 3,000 to 4,500 feet, the air
is crisp and cool. The friendly atmosphere exudes
southern hospitality and charm creating the perfect
place to spend time with old friends and to make new
ones.
Laurel Ridge is easily accessible separating it from
other mountain courses, which by necessity are located
at the end of a long, twisting trail far from a main
highway. Once golfers have enjoyed a taste of this
paradise in the mountains, many quickly decide that it
is a great place to visit and an even better place to
live.

Reflecting the casualness of mountain living, but
offering the security of community living; Laurel Ridge
offers a first class 18-hole golf facility. The Club
also features a heated pool with waterfall, tennis
courts, a 6,000 square foot Pavilion overlooking holes
#9, #10 and #18, a clubhouse with restaurant and fully
stocked Pro Shop. With active men's, women's and mixed
activity schedules - you'll be at home with new friends
immediately.
The Golf Course:
"...the yardstick by
which all area courses are measured."
Golfweek Magazine
Nestled among the meadows and mountainside Laurel Ridge
features an 18-hole championship golf course that has been
distinctively carved into the majestic Smoky Mountains.
Fast, undulating greens, lush tree-lined fairways and
spectacular panoramic views highlight the course. Our greens
and fairways feature Bent Grass. The course was designed and
sculpted by Robert Cupp, Jack Nicklaus'
chief designer for 14 years.

Laurel
Ridge may be Cupp's finest achievement; it is certainly one
of the most beautiful and challenging courses anywhere. The
contour of the land, flowing streams, reflective ponds, sand
and grass bunkers are all masterfully designed to give each
hole its own unique character and challenge. The variety of
mountain laurel, dogwood, apple blossoms, azaleas and
rhododendrons creates a kaleidoscope of color.
The course offers every challenge expected of a mountain
course, yet does it with a delicate balance of fairness and
playability. "Every shot must be visible",
says Cupp. "If the player sees the shot, the player
will remember the shot. My goal is for the players to
remember the game."
The scratch golfer can bite off as much of a challenge as
he can chew from the back tees at 6904 yards, while four
other sets of tees, blue at 6551 yards, white at 6093 yards,
green at 5174 yards and gold at 4408 yards, allow golfers to
choose positions based on their level of play.
Our
6,000 square feet "Pavilion on the Knoll" features a
generous deck overlooking holes #9 and #18 - perfect for
tournament watching. It comfortably seats over 200
people and can accommodate live music and dancing. Let
our Restaurant Manager and Chef work with you to
coordinate all those special touches that will make your
event memorable.
A Golf outing at Laurel Ridge Country Club is the
perfect way to entertain clients or reward employees for

There is always something happening at the tennis
courts and around the pool.
Our three state of the art tennis courts provide for an

Clay courts from May 1st until the first freeze - which
is usually mid November. The hard court stays open year
round. Players range from levels 2.5-5.0 for both men
and women. The many round robins are sure to keep the
avid tennis player on his game.
Our tennis court facility has much to offer. You may

Tennis Pro, Connie Anderson also acts as Tournament

round
teaching Professional offers junior clinics during the
summer. These options, as well as everyday recreational
play, leave you with many activities to participate in.
There is no better way to enjoy the beautiful mountain
sunshine or unwind after a round of golf than a dip in
the pool overlooking a waterfall.

outdoor pools in the mountains! Our designer swimming
pool provides relaxing recreation for Laurel Ridge

full time seasonal lifeguards and maintains an average
