Of course, all other offerings of pork, lamb, turkey, chicken dishes, etc, and a pretty good fresh fish counter can be had as well. Honestly, it's what a butchers'/fishmongers' counter should look like---and there's always a line because everything is fresh, fresh, fresh, and not a scrap of plastic wrap or foam packaging to be seen! Everything is hand wrapped right in front of your very eyes!
The Fresh Market is best in all of Asheville. Keeping up with the standards of a big city specialty shop, The Fresh Market offers many hard to find items, including a fine selection of fresh roasted coffees, cheeses, European crackers, and their own bakery and fresh breads. It's worth the journey to North Asheville. They'll also make great gourmet gift baskets for you as well, and you can hand-select your own items to boot! By far, The Fresh Market is Asheville's very best.... I just wish they were more of them!
